UNION PARK ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF SYSTECH ILLINOIS
BOSTON, MA – March 13, 2017. Industrial Physics, Inc., a Boston-based test and measurement manufacturer and portfolio company of Union Park Capital, announced the acquisition of Systech Illinois. As specialists in gas and moisture measurement and analysis, Systech Illinois' application and technology expertise provides efficient gas analysis solutions in many industry sectors worldwide. The company is headquartered in Thame UK, with its US headquarters in Johnsburg Illinois.
Systech Illinois will be joined with TM Electronics, acquired by Industrial Physics in October, to offer customers a comprehensive suite of solutions for permeation, package testing and MAP gas analysis used by food, beverage, electronics, pharmaceutical and medical device companies as well as packaging material suppliers to assure product quality and long shelf-life.
Systech Illinois joins Testing Machines Inc., Messmer Büchel, CMC-KUHNKE, Ray-Ran Test Equipment, TM Electronics, and United Calibration Corp. as an independent operating entity under Industrial Physics. Industrial Physics' premium brands address quality and regulatory test and measurement demands of customers in the paper, packaging material, plastics, metals, food, electronics, pharmaceutical and medical device markets.
Systech Illinois and TM Electronics will be led by Doug Lindemann, who assumed leadership of TM Electronics in January 2017. Doug is an industry veteran who has experience growing businesses in permeation, MAP gas analysis and leak detection applications. Doug spent 20 years with MOCON most recently serving as Vice President/General Manager Permeation Products & Services. He possesses a Masters Degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
“We are delighted to have Systech Illinois join the Industrial Physics family. Systech Illinois has a strong product offering and history of excellent customer service. This acquisition expands our offering to product shelf-life determination and package integrity assurance, bringing another critical capability to the Industrial Physics portfolio,” said Jim Neville, CEO of Industrial Physics. “With the addition of Systech Illinois, Industrial Physics bolsters its position as a leader in material and physical property testing instrumentation.” said Mr. Neville.
“We are very excited to be joining the Industrial Physics family,” says Bryan Cummings, former owner and President of Systech Illinois. “Becoming part of a larger platform will allow us to take advantage of synergies with Industrial Physics’ other companies in flexible packaging and industrial markets. We feel we currently have a strong product portfolio at Systech Illinois, with several significant product development projects in the works. With this new relationship with Industrial Physics, we feel confident that we will be able to contribute to Industrial Physics’ growth.”
Mr. Cummings will continue to lead product development for Systech Illinois. “We are thrilled to have such a talented industry veteran as Bryan stay with the business,” said Mr. Neville.
