UNION PARK ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF PROCESS SENSORS
Boston, MA – September 30, 2015. KPM Analytics, a Union Park Capital holding company, announced today the acquisition of Process Sensors Corporation, a leading provider of analytical instrumentation for quality control determination in manufacturing processes. The Company’s product range includes (NIR) spectrometers, non-contact infrared temperature sensors, and radio frequency moisture gauges.
Process Sensors will join Unity Scientific as an independent operating entity under Union Park’s KPM Analytics. “We are overjoyed that Process Sensors and Unity Scientific will be working together,” said Morgan Jones, Managing Partner of Union Park Capital. “Not only are both businesses leaders in NIR spectroscopy, they complement each other tremendously in other facets. Process Sensors extends Unity Scientific’s leadership in NIR instrumentation to process applications, so we can now provide customers measurement of moisture, oils and other components in both laboratory and process settings, especially in food, feed, forage, and agriculture applications. Going forward, we’ll add to this family of companies, continuing to broaden the product and technology portfolio to better serve our markets.”
Tim Carey, Co-Founder and Owner of Process Sensors states, “The investment by Union Park and partnership with Unity Scientific is wonderful for our customers, employees and sales network. The business can now pursue a broader vision and expand its scope with a more comprehensive product set.” Rob Winson, Co-Founder and Owner added, “We will carry on designing and manufacturing cutting-edge and valuable solutions for a wide range of applications and end markets, and we look forward to the additional momentum increased engineering resources will create.” Carey and Winson will remain with the company going forward.
The KPM Analytics family of companies will be led by a new CEO, Chris McIntire, who was one of Union Park Capital’s operating advisors. “Chris is an extraordinary operator,” says Morgan. “Chris was most recently Senior Vice President, Analytics and Treatment at Xylem, Inc. He ran a prior investment of mine called Nova Analytics which was acquired by ITT (now Xylem). Chris delivered excellent growth both organically and inorganically and he’s been in analytical instrumentation companies his entire career – I can think of no one better to lead KPM Analytics.”
